2022 Fellowship for Black Weavers

Fabric of Life is excited to both fundamentally and financially support the formation and first meeting of a Fellowship for Black Weavers this spring. A group of black weaving enthusiasts will come together at the Bassett Road Homestead for a long weekend at the end of the month. Diversity in weaving techniques and traditions will be explored as community is built around a mutual love of weaving and textile art. The weekend retreat will be followed by a SkillShare week where two talented black artisans will each produce an educational video to provide basic information to new and potential weavers as they consider pursuing their interest in handweaving.
