Did you take our in-person Beekeeping Series with Ang Roell of They Keep Bees and are ready to learn more? This three-part online course is intended to build on the foundation created by the in-person program.

Ang Roell (they/them/their) is the owner of They Keep Bees in Montague MA.  Ang has taught beekeeping at the University of Massachusetts and traditional food ways courses at the Franklin County House of Corrections.

Program Description

They Keep Bees Virtual Bee School is intended as three additional classes to follow the two-part beekeeping series offered at Fabric of Life. This class may also be appropriate if you have previous experience with bees.

Classes 1 & 2: Beekeeping Series: Building A Relationship with Honeybees & Planning and Care of the Honeybee Hive (In-person on July 31, 2021 & August 7, 2021)

 

Online Class Content:

Class 3: Hive Anatomy & Expansion

Class 4: All the Mite-y Details

Class 5: Preparing for Winter

 

Participants in this program will also be provided with a copy of Ang Roell’s Apiary Action Plan Guide, as well as direct access to their Slack channel to search topics and ask questions.

 

Ang’s book Radicalize the Hive is available at no cost.

Our sliding scale fee allows us to keep these programs accessible to a wide range of individuals. The ‘admirer’ option covers the cost of the instructor fee, program support, marketing, and administration. The ‘friend’ option covers all of this and allows for a small profit margin to be contributed towards sustaining Fabric of Life programming for next year. The ‘enthusiast’ option covers all of this and allows for us to begin to sustain Fabric of Life programming for generations to come.

FOL will refund 90% of your fee if you cancel more than 30 days before the beginning of the program. 10% will be retained for administrative services. Cancellation with less than 30 days notice will automatically be rolled over as a credit for another program of your choice within the next year from the date of the original program. FOL will maintain the funds and carry them forward once you determine what program you would like to utilize them for. If there is a balance after paying for the second program, it will not be refunded. If a program does not run due to circumstances beyond our control, participants will receive a full refund of the fees paid.
