Given the unknown landscape of COVID-19, we are planning our program with adherence to CDC and state recommendations, which we will update if recommendations change. It is critical that each student recognizes their personal role and responsibility in maintaining the health and well-being of themselves and those around them. Students who do not follow the safety protocols will be dismissed from the program without receiving a refund. Regardless of whether students have received vaccines or not, the following measures will be in place:

  • All students will need to provide proof of a negative COVID test from within 72 hours of the program start date or proof of vaccination.
  • Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations will be available for use throughout the day and students will be asked to regularly wash their hands.
  • Students will be asked to regularly wipe down their workspaces and looms.
  • Fabric of Life will contract with cleaners to routinely clean the bathrooms, classroom spaces and the common areas throughout the week.
  • Signs will be posted sharing regulations and protocols regarding entering and leaving spaces and other important guidelines
  • Any concern around symptoms that may be COVID-related will require immediate reporting of information to staff and immediate reporting to a testing site.

Due to recent changes in the state of Massachusetts guidelines and CDC recommendations, we have revised our policies for the program season. These policies are effective as of 6/10/21 and will remain in effect until otherwise noted.

* If you are unvaccinated and inside of the Farmhouse, you may be unmasked if you are with your class peers and instructor if you are able to maintain physical distancing.

** If you are in your own cabin or tent you do not need to mask; if you are visiting another person’s cabin or tent please confirm with them what their comfort level is with your masking/unmasking while visiting.

*** While outdoors and unvaccinated, we recommend that you still maintain physical distancing practices and that you avoid large crowds/gatherings

**** Many businesses in Massachusetts are opting to continue requiring face coverings even though it is not mandatory for those who are vaccinated; we encourage you to continue to mask in indoor public spaces for the safety, health, and well-being of your peers and our staff.

***** Please continue to maintain physical distance in these kinds of spaces if you are unvaccinated.

For the program and for the health and well-being of all, these are recommended practices:

  • Students are encouraged to utilize either delivery or curbside pick-up as their means of gathering groceries and toiletries if it is possible.
  • Curbside pick-up or take-out from restaurants is preferable.
  • Minimize going to public gatherings (inside or outside) or going into indoor public spaces.
  • Minimize going to social gatherings with others outside of the Fabric of Life staff and its immediate community and the Immersion cohort.

Fabric of Life staff will evaluate the above guidelines and make shifts as needed in order to maintain the health and well-being of all students, as this is our first priority. Fabric of Life is absorbing significant additional costs as a result of our commitment to maintaining a healthy environment for our students and staff. And our staff is adhering to the same guidelines that we are asking of our students during this time.
